68 PROMOTION AND DISCLOSURE OF MUSICAL HERITAGE HAGELANDHageland+
The project " Promotion and disclosure of musical heritage Hageland" by means of concerts of "the Soundtrack of the Demerbroeken" is a follow-up to a previous project in which singer-songwriter Lennaert Maes and multi-instrumentalist Andries Boone. They went looking for the roots of our region and the beauty of the Demerbroeken. They sing of magnificent folk characters, about the current of the Demer, about love from river bank to river bank, about the mighty landscape that surrounds us and about how the past and the present are intertwined. Photographer Guy Janssens provided the images. Non-profit organisation De Wesp wants to spread the music and lyrics that have been produced by organising five small-scale concerts and by distributing them to several associations, local authorities and the local hospitality sector in Hageland.
