45 LEARNING MANAGEMENT: FARMERS AND NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGERS LEARN FROM ONE OTHER

Hageland+

There is a growing realisation among many farmers of the need to incorporate landscape or nature management into their farming practices. For their part, nature managers and local authorities are also increasingly opting to deploy traditional farming for the management of natural land.
The aim of the ‘Leren Beheren’ (‘Learning to Manage’) course is to respond to this need: farmers, nature managers and local authorities learn together about agrarian nature and landscape management. The course contains six modules, covering themes such as ecology, minor landscape elements, sunken roads, fields and grasslands.
